From the people behind the chain of Princess Turandot Chinese restaurants comes this characterful new Italian. Piedmontese chef Simone Ariano serves up rustic, full-flavoured Italian fare alongside the usual pizza and pasta dishes: try the ravioli, arancini (risotto balls), home-made polpetti (meatballs) with fluffy mashed potato or one of several pastas topped with the titular Bolognese. The open-kitchen trend hasn't yet caught on in this part of the world but here it is possible to watch the chefs going about their business by requesting the table next to the window into the kitchen. The rather unusual décor features pale grey soft furnishings, sculptural monochrome lighting and a classical-style bar set off by a vivid modern mosaic, though there is a simpler, rather sweet outside terrace as well. It's just the place for a relaxed, reasonably-priced, and, most importantly, delicious bite to eat.
